October brings new Skin components and button class names, a warning variant for notices, new and updated icons, and accessibility improvements across Evo Web packages. Marko adds date inputs, and both frameworks add a chips combobox. Fixes cover date validation and video controls.

Skin adds button-link and link-button, along with navigation-tabs and navigation-menu. The fake-btn, fake-link, fake-tabs and fake-menu classes remain functional and are deprecated. Skin also adds the spelled-out button, icon-button, cta-button and expand-button classes alongside the existing abbreviated names, which are deprecated. (#1070)

Page notices, section notices and inline notices now support a warning variant in Skin, legacy Marko and legacy React. (#1032)

The icon set adds bar-chart-20, clock-20, discount-20, hand-swipe-24, inspect-20, megaphone-20, note-20, store-20, switch-camera-16, trophy-12 and wallet-20, plus two sizes each of condition-guarantee and live-raids. The artwork for store-24 and store-filled-24 has also changed. The icons are included in Skin and the Marko and React packages. (#1068)

Accordion headers now use configurable headings, and calendar navigation labels have been clarified. (#974)

@evo-web/marko adds date and date range inputs, chips combobox, progress bar, expressive progress bar, flag, section title and video components. @evo-web/react adds number input, image placeholder, star rating select, chips combobox, EvoEducationNotice and EvoField. The chips combobox supports composable chip options, and EvoCombobox gains an option-selection callback and a large input variant. The @evo-web/react 0.4.8 release also lists EvoTourtip, EvoVideo, EvoFakeLink, EvoSectionTitle, EvoSignal, EvoSkeleton, EvoStarRating, EvoSwitch and EvoToggleButton. (release notes)

• Borderless buttons use bold text; listbox button labels stay at normal weight while their values are bold. (#979)
• Date textbox and date input reject typed days that do not exist in the month, across the legacy and Evo Marko and React packages. (#1076)
• Readonly textboxes now match the default textbox styling. (#973)
• The Marko calendar keeps the current month visible when disableAfter falls on its first day. (#975)
• Compact video links beneath the control bar are clickable while playback controls remain usable. The remaining-time display is hidden again in compact players narrower than 320 pixels. (#1050, #1043)
• Primary button borders now default to transparent and can be customized, fixing the blue outline on tourtip buttons. (#1039)
• ebay-layout-grid applies item attributes to each list item. (#1073)

• evo-combobox adds an invalid prop. (#969)

• Number input value callbacks are unified across React and Marko. (#972)

• Marko evo-input returns references to its input control and postfix button as $control and $postfixButton. (#1033)

• Marko star rating accepts a11yText=null when another accessible label is provided. (#989)

• In evo-select, explicitly supplied disabled, id and value take precedence over spread input attributes. (#916)

• Marko evo-video accepts an optional @source tag and reports when no source is provided. It also handles a null media engine without throwing. (#916)

• The Signal Storybook title changed from "Hotness Signals" to "Signal". (#1070)

When migrating to Marko evo-progress-bar, omitting value now renders an indeterminate progress bar instead of defaulting to zero. (#1040)

Marko evo-progress-bar-expressive requires a11yText, with an English default of "Loading..."; its <@message> tag accepts only a body and duration. With reduced motion, each message displays for 1.5 times its duration without a hidden fade. (#1041)

The old fake-* and abbreviated button classes remain supported for now and are planned for removal in the next major version. Use either the old or the new button names on an element, rather than mixing them; the --btn-* custom properties remain unchanged. (#1070)

Marko evo-video no longer accepts src as an input; the component assigns the video source from @source. (#916)

The Marko <evo-section-title> migration requires a <@title> tag. Its former href and ctaText attributes are replaced by a <@cta> tag, and the info slot is absent. The React EvoSectionTitleInfo component was removed. (#1055)
